Dr. Khurram Shahzad

Board Certified Oral Surgeon in Pittsburg, CA

Dr. Khurram Shahzad is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He grew up in Long Island, New York. He attended the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook where he majored in Biology and graduated with honors.

He then attended New York University (NYU) for dental school (DDS) and graduated in 2002 at the top of his class. After that Dr. Shahzad completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Long Island, NY.

During this period, he also received a doctor of medicine degree (M.D.) as well as completed an internship in General Surgery. After graduation, Dr. Shahzad went on active duty with the US Air Force and worked in Japan for three years at the US base. Next, he was stationed in England for four years at the US base there. Following England, he came back to the United States and is now stationed at Travis Air Force Base in California where his duty is primarily to teach and train future Air Force Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

He enjoys providing direct oral surgical and anesthesia care to patients.

He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also holds life support certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Dr. Shahzad enjoys traveling, music (especially Northern Indian Classical music), hiking, racquetball, tennis, and spending time with family and friends. His philosophy on life is simple: Follow the golden rule: “Treat others as you would like to be treated”.
